Dr. Jeffrey Jeruss, OD, FIAOMC

Dr. Jeffrey Jeruss, OD, FIAOMC has been the owner of Eye to Eye Vision Center since 1994. Originally from Coral Gables, Florida, Dr. Jeruss attended Emory University and graduated from the University of Florida in 1977. He received his optometry degree from Southern California College of Optometry in 1983, did an externship at world renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, and then started a specialty contact lens practice in Miami, with emphasis on Orthokeratology and Myopia Control.
In 1991, he moved to Atlanta to become the Chief of Contact Lens Services at Thomas Eye Group, and in 1994 resumed his specialty contact lens practice with Eye to Eye.

Dr. J has lectured a number of times at the annual meetings of the International Academy of Orthokeratology and American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control, and earned the degree of Fellow (FIAOMC) in 2015, demonstrating a commitment to excellence in the field. He provides consulting services to other Orthokeratologists on a daily basis.

Dr. Amber Zaunbrecher, OD

Dr. Amber Zaunbrecher, OD has been with Eye to Eye since August, 2016. A Georgia native, Dr. Z (as she is known by her patients) graduated from the University of Georgia in 2006 and completed her optometry degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry in 2011. She spent the next year in an ocular disease residency, working as a clinical skills instructor and attending physician in both primary care and pediatric clinic, lecturing, and publishing her research.

With a strong commitment to a personalized eye exam, Dr. Z strives to make each patient feel welcomed, heard, and cared for. She is excited to continue in Dr. Jeruss’s footsteps of rigid/scleral contact lenses and ortho-keratology.  When not in the clinic, Dr. Z and her husband Kyle are cheering on their children on the ball field or the UGA Bulldogs from the side lines.

Dr. Carrie Hughes, OD

Dr. Carrie Hughes moved to Georgia with her husband and family in 2017. After practicing several years in her community, she joined Eye to Eye Vision Center in April 2021 sharing their vision in quality eye care. Dr. Hughes received her undergraduate studies in Anthropology at University of South Florida and Chemistry at The University of Tampa. She completed her Doctor of Optometry degree at The Southern College of Optometry in 2013. Through her years of experience, she has developed a diverse outlook on patient care with an emphasis on family practice and ocular disease.  

When she is not in the clinic, Dr. Hughes enjoys spending time with friends & family, practicing yoga & cross training, reading, and baking sweets. She also donates her time to a local nonprofit rescue organization, Purr Nation Cat Alliance, assisting with adoptions and serving on the Board of Directors as Vice President and Treasurer.

Andrea Knight

Andrea Knight has been Dr J’s “right hand” assistant since 2008. She performs most of the exam and specialized testing and brilliantly runs the contact lens practice. Our excellent reputation for contact lenses is enormously dependent on her commitment to taking great care of people, her hard work, and her attention to detail.

Jesse Watkins

Jesse Watkins has been our wonderful, caring, helpful Patient Coordinator and Insurance Wizard since 2010. When you call our office, she will ask you about the specific eye problems you are experiencing to determine if you require urgent or routine care and will schedule an appointment that works best for you. She will also ask you for personal information to obtain pre-authorization for insurance benefits and make sure that your experience with us goes smoothly and effortlessly.

Joanne Tocci, LDO

Joanne Tocci, LDO has been our Licensed Dispensing Optician since 1996. She brings an enormous amount of training and experience to our practice, and is known for being painstakingly thorough. Most of our patients will not get glasses anywhere else but here because they trust her expertise so much.
